I’ll own I’ve been negligent.  We have had some delightful shows in the Minthorne Art Gallery at George Fox this Fall, and I have not done my duty in alerting you as to what’s been going on.  So I’m going to work backwards here to catch you up.

The current show up with us Riding into Tomorrow paintings by Alison O’Donoghue has been just plain fun.  I cannot recall an exhibition I’ve been to as of late where I watched for a half an hour or more a pack of students trail an artist around the gallery at an opening.  Alison kept them laughing and attentive as she unpacked her spirited work, explaining the actions and narratives of her twisting figures and critters.

As an artist she is engaging, humble, humorous, and simply a delight to work with.  If you can get out to Newberg, the show will be up for a couple more weeks here.

Oregon Art Beat did a very nice feature on their show of her recently.  Check the video out here: http://watch.opb.org/video/2365015269/ She’s a hoot, and it’s a lot of fun to watch her process.
