Ah I know we are well into fall but I needed to get a couple more sculptures out here to you all from this summer. Here they be:

“Parousia” (mixed media assemblage including wood, found objects, brass and tin); I wanted this figure to move with the movement of the birds bursting up around him. The diagonal stripes of the torso actually come to me as an idea because of a shirt I have that is striped that way.

“Tender” (mixed media assemblage including wood, found objects, bone, and pate’ de verre, 12″x16″x9″). The head is a pate’ de verre so I made it originally in clay, made a mold, and then did it in glass. I liked the idea of a figure that is a landscape, tending to all that is within it.

This is “Tender’s back side. I had a nice time hiding figures in it, and I especially like how the shoulder of the figure is supported by the body of a wooden deer.
